Problem Domain & Challenges - Professional photographers and videographers in Bahrain's local market face significant challenges in finding clients and showcasing their work effectively. Existing platforms such as Instagram, Upwork, and Behance are either too general, algorithm-driven, or not tailored to the local creative industry — forcing professionals to compete in a noisy, distracting digital environment that does not serve their specialized needs.
Solution & Approach - SAWERNI is a dedicated photography and videography platform designed to bridge this gap by connecting local creative professionals directly with clients in a focused, non-distractive community. The platform integrates Artificial Intelligence to automate captioning, categorize media dynamically, and moderate content proactively — ensuring a high-quality, professional space free from the noise of general social media algorithms.
Technologies & Outcomes - Built using FlutterFlow and Firebase, SAWERNI delivers a fully scalable, localized digital marketplace with features including secure direct messaging, event management, organized portfolios, and a non-addictive gamification system. The platform successfully enhances the professional media industry in Bahrain by empowering creatives with the tools they need to grow their careers and reach the right clients.
Local photographers and videographers lack a dedicated platform to professionally market their services, manage client relationships, and showcase their portfolios — leaving them scattered across general-purpose social media with no targeted visibility in the local market.
SAWERNI provides a specialized, AI-powered platform tailored to the local creative industry — offering portfolio management, client discovery, secure messaging, event coordination, and smart content tools, all within a distraction-free and professionally curated environment.
Defined project scope, conducted stakeholder interviews, and gathered functional and non-functional requirements. Identified system gaps through comparative analysis of existing platforms such as Instagram, Behance, Upwork, and Glass.
Designed the system architecture including data schema, entity relationship diagrams (ERD), data flow diagrams (DFDs), and user flow diagrams. Defined the Firebase data collections and structured the UI/UX wireframes for all platform screens.
Built the full platform using FlutterFlow for the frontend and Firebase for the backend. Implemented core features including user authentication, portfolio management, secure messaging, event management, AI auto captioning, AI dynamic categorization, and the gamification system.
Integrated AI-powered features including automatic caption generation, dynamic media categorization into sectors such as wedding and commercial photography, and a proactive content moderation system that scans media before publishing.
Conducted unit testing, functional testing, and UI consistency testing across all platform modules. Validated system performance, resolved identified issues, and deployed the platform as a fully scalable, localized digital marketplace.
